Creating Lead Status

Lead Statuses are also referred to as a Disposition. A Lead Status is how a User marks what happened during that lead. While the system has standard statuses, many times additional Lead Statuses may be needed for tracking call outcomes.

When adding a Lead Status Disposition always check to make sure the Lead Status doesn't already exist, is hidden, or is a System status. There might also be Lead Statuses that aren’t an exact match but will meet the needs.

  1. Settings - Lead Status: verify the status isn’t hidden

  2. Settings - Options: Contract tab and check to see if the status is hidden

Step One: Creating a TLDialer Status

To begin, first create the Dialer status that will be link the Lead status for tracking and reporting

 

  1.  From TLDialer select Status

  1. Select the Green + to begin creating the Status

  1. The following fields will need to be filled out to ensure the TLDialer Status is configured correctly.

  1. ID -  abbreviated Name of Status Created (Max 6 characters)

  2. Name -  the name of the Lead Status recently created

  3. Human Answered  - did a person answer the phone

  4. Answering Machine -  did the call go to voicemail

  5. Status Flags are additional flags that can be used to classify the Lead Status

    1. Sale - was a sale made 

    2. Completed - utilized for sale statuses and mark a lead so it’s not contacted again

    3. Customer Contact - was a customer contacted

    4. Schedule Callback - did the User schedule a callback to the customer

    5. Not Interested - the customer is not interested in the product

    6. Unworkable - issues with the Lead make it unworkable

    7. DNC - The lead will be added to the DNC (hard to reverse engineer or troubleshoot.)

Why is this important?  

Accurate lead categorization is crucial for generating meaningful reports and optimizing future campaigns. Using "OTHER" as a catch-all category hinders our ability to do this effectively.

The Dialer status is what determines what Leads can be added back into the Hopper and Other is typically not a dialable status.

Step Two: Creating the Lead Status (Disposition)

  1. Under Settings select Lead Status

  1. Select Add Field from the top menu and scroll all the way down to select Lead Status

  1. Enter the Name in all lowercase letters and underscores for spaces (lowercase_underscore). The Description is the name as it would appear on the Lead 

    1. Additional customizations are available(Button Label, Icon, and Color) but are typically left blank.

  1. When to Show Status Button is when the Lead Status will be visible to the Users 

    1. Before Conversion - the option will only be available until the lead is converted

    2. After Conversation - the option will only be available after the lead has been converted,

    3. Before and After Conversions. - this Lead Status will always be visible.

  1. Map to TLDialer Status is where we link this newly created Lead Status Disposition to the TLDialer for tracking and reporting purposes. 

  1. Click Save to complete Lead Status creation
