Lead Ownership

  • There are 4 Agents on a Lead.

    • Creator

      • The Agent who created the lead if not the system

    • Assignee

      • A Manually Assigned or Trigger Assigned Agent

    • Agent

      • The First Converting Agent

    • Foster

      • An Agent Assigned to the Lead After Conversion (such as for an Agent that quit)

      • A way to preserve the converting agent

  • Aside from Assignee and Foster, the agent types are automatically filled out based on actions completed on the lead. It is important that they are used correctly.

  • In addition, the Policies themselves have Agents.

    • For example, a User can own a Policy they sold and be listed as the Agent on that policy however they don't own the lead.

  • It is important to note that subsequent Conversions on other Policies will not change the lead agent once it has been set.

    • This is to preserve the history of the lead.

    • The new converting agent can be listed as Foster without overriding the original converting agent afterwards

Lead Ownership Example

  • Agent A sells policy

    • Lead Converts, (Date converted) and lead has Agent Set to this Agent

    • Policy Converts, Policy has this Agent

    • Policy Verified and Submitted giving the Policy Date Verified and Date Sold

    • Verifier and Submitter are Set, the original Converting agent on the policy is preserved

  • Agent B or CS sells a Policy on the same lead.

    • Lead Does not convert as it is already converted, Agent is not changed, to preserve original converting agents history.

    • New Policy has Date converted and Agent Set to Agent B or CS

    • Policy is Verified and Submitted preserving Agent B or CS as the converting Agent of the POLICY

  • The owner of the Lead in this case is still Agent A so they can keep track of their leads, unless a foster is set overriding the owner.

    • A trigger can be created to “Foster Lead” on policy update

    • This trigger would make the Foster Update when a Lead Status Disposition is selected every time if it hasn't been converted yet

      • The foster would always shift as they make more policies on a lead.

  • The "Owner" of the Lead and Policy is what determines what shows up under agents "My Leads" and "My Customers" sections.

    • However, even without ownership of the lead, if another agent sold a policy on another agents lead, it would still show up under "My Policies"

  • By Default My Policies and My Leads are hidden from the Agent unless given the special Abilities to "View My Leads" or "View My Policies"
