Double Opt-In
Double opt-in is a two-step process for subscribing to receive system generated messages when using TLMessenger. System generated messages are often sent using triggers on Lead Status updates and/or Policy Status updates. This Double Opt-In does not impact conversational messages sent by the User to the Customer through the leads TLMessenger feature.
Initial Sign-Up: A system message is generated and an automatic Opt-In message is sent to the customer requesting approval to receive messages.
Confirmation Step: The customer receives a message containing a confirmation of the Opt-In and instructions on how to be removed should the need arise.
To Enable Double Opt In go to Settings and select Options.
From Options and Configurations select the TLMessenger tab to begin.
Scroll down to Double Opt-In and set to Yes for enabled.
If enabled, the system will NOT send automated text messages from any source other than the TLMessenger Chat Window. Please Note: If a customer has Opted Out using the default Opt Out keywords, the Opt-in will be ignored in favor of the Opt-out List and no text messages will be sent to that number.
The Double Opt In Request and Confirmation Messages will be sent before any system messages can be sent and after the customer agrees to Opt In.
Should a customer Opt Out of receiving system messages an unsubscribe message will confirm and let the customer know how to recontinue, if needed.
Opt In and Opt Out Keywords are a list of words that will also confirm an customers decision.
Never use the standard “start” or “stop” as these are industry standard and will trigger Opt In and Outs from the DID provider, including conversational messages.
